Mount Royal Soaps LLC manufactures and sells personal care products, soaps, and candles in Baltimore, MD. We manufacture out of our production facility in the Woodberry neighborhood and have a retail location in the Remington neighborhood of Baltimore. The Production Tech works out of our Woodberry production facility. Factory hours are 8am-4pm Monday through Thursday.

Description: The Production Technician is responsible for manufacturing many of our handcrafted personal care products. While this role will receive training across a variety of our small-batch production processes, the technician will primarily be responsible for shampoo bars, candles, and cutting bar soap.

In addition to product manufacturing, this position will assist with other production tasks as needed, including hand-labeling soap, operating our filling line, and supporting other areas of the production process. The Production Tech will also be responsible for assisting staff with fulfillment of online orders and wholesale orders. We value efficiency, teamwork, and attention to detail. Because our team works quickly and productively, this position is scheduled as a four-day workweek.

 

Starting Rate: $20/hour

Full Time (32 hours)

Start Date: August 10th or ASAP

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the manufacturing of shampoo bars
    • Combine ingredients in mixer according to procedures
    • Measure out mixture
    • Press Shampoo Bars
    • Wear all necessary PPE and follow safety protocols
  • Manufacture Balms and Conditioner Bars
    • Measure out and combine ingredients in melter
    • Pour into tins or molds
    • Label tins when necessary
  • Pour Candles
    • Place wicks in jars
    • Pour wax
    • Cut wicks
  • Pick and Pack Online Orders and Wholesale Orders with accuracy
  • Assist Soap Maker with cutting bar soaps quickly and efficiently
  • Hand label bars of soap and other products as needed
  • Operate our bottle filling line in cooperation with others as needed
  • Restock supplies and products as needed
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workstation
  • Clean equipment and workstation after use
  • Follow all safety protocols and requirements
  • Keep accurate batch records according to established procedures.
  • Participate in and foster a healthy, respectful workplace.

Requirements

  • Ability to work repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently with minimal error
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to wear required PPE including apron, gloves, and half face respirator
  • Experience in Manufacturing or Restaurant Industry preferred
