Production Tech I

Mount Royal Soaps LLC manufactures and sells personal care products, soaps, and candles in Baltimore, MD. We manufacture out of our production facility in the Woodberry neighborhood and have a retail location in the Remington neighborhood of Baltimore. The Production Tech works out of our Woodberry production facility. Factory hours are 8am-4pm Monday through Thursday. 

Description: This Production Tech position will be responsible for assisting the Lead Artisan with cold process soapmaking and other product production. They will also be responsible for doing other production tasks as needed, such as hand labeling soap and working on our filling line. All employees are expected to work quickly and efficiently and as a result they will only need to work 4 days a week. 

 

Starting Rate: $20/hour

Full Time (32 hours)

Start Date: March 1st

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with cold process soap making:
    • Combine lye and oils
    • Pour soap into molds
    • Wear all necessary PPE and follow safety protocols
  • Cut soap bars quickly and efficiently
  • Hand label bars of soap and other products as needed
  • Operate our bottle filling line in cooperation with others as needed
  • Restock supplies and products as needed
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workstation
  • Clean equipment and workstation after use
  • Follow all safety protocols and requirements
  • Keep accurate batch records according to established procedures.
  • Participate in and foster a healthy, respectful workplace.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with the production of other products such as shampoo bars, balms, lotions, conditioner bars, and candles

Requirements

  • Ability to work repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently with minimal error
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Experience in Manufacturing or Restaurant Industry preferred
